Philippe Coutinho consolidates himself as a starter

He looks more confident and he set up the second goal with a ball for Ansu Fati

A month ago, Philippe Coutinho scored two goals against Barcelona in the Champions League. No 7 and No 8 in an 8-2 rout. He won the trophy. Nobody imagined he would return to Camp Nou, be a starter and have an important role in Ronald Koeman's team.

The Dutch coach has not given him anything for free; Coutinho has earned it. He returned from Munich more mature, more responsible, braver and above all, with the idea that it's now or never for him at Barca. And it seems like he wants to triumph here, and show why Barca paid so much for him.

Coutinho impressed in pre-season, more than most. He earned this start. And delivered, in the 19th minute with a nice pass for Ansu Fati to net his second goal.

He linked well with his team-mates in the No 10 position, and off to the left, helping Barcelona stay on top. Let's see if this form continues because that would be great news for Koeman and his club.
