La 'Gazzetta' confirm Milan's interest in the Frenchman as first revealed by SPORT

Paolo Maldini, AC Milan's sporting director, wants to bring Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo to the Italian club.

Newspaper 'Gazzetta dello Sport' confirmed Maldini's interest in the centre-back, as had been first revealed by Diario SPORT earlier this week.

However, the Italian outlet adds that Maldini has already made an offer to bring Todibo to the San Siro in January.

Despite having a 150 million euro release clause, Milan want Todibo. Their experience with Real Madrid's Theo Hernandez has provided good results and they hope the Barça defender can do the same.

Todibo, who will turn 20 this month, played at the San Siro for Barça on Wednesday in the 2-1 win and did well in front of Milan's scouts who also know that Bayer Leverkusen want him.

For now, negotiations are ongoing and we will see what happens with the former Toulouse man when the transfer window opens, with Barça keen to maintain a buyback clause if they sell him.
