The two clubs spoke about the midfielder at a meeting in Milan this week

FC Barcelona took advantage of their trip to Milan this week to meet with Sassuolo sporting director Giovanni Carnevali, who was at the team's hotel to build on the relationship between the two clubs.

Carnevali met with Barça vice president Jordi Cardoner and CEO Oscar Grau. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the name Jeremie Boga came up in the meeting.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been one of the revelations of the season in Serie A. The Ivory Coast international joined Sassuolo in 2018 from Chelsea, where he'd spent the majority of his time on loan, including one year with Granada in La Liga in 2016-17.

In addition, in the meeting, a number of possible moves in January were spoken about, especially with regard to young players. Barça have given the Italian side priority on their academy players and, at the same time, they will have the first option on Sassuolo players in the future, for example with Boga.

It was not the only meeting Barça had in Milan. SPORT also revealed that sporting director Eric Abidal and his No.2 Ramon Planes met with Inter to talk about Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal's futures.
