Leo Messi exercised his role as captain in the Camp Nou tunnel as Barcelona's players prepared for the second half of Saturday's Champions League win over Napoli.
Barça were winning 3-1 at the break but Messi did not want any distractions as they focused on closing the game out and reaching the Champions League quarterfinals.
For that reason, he sent a message to the rest of the team: "Let's be calm," he said. "We have a two-goal lead. Let's not be idiots."
It was a phrase that was ratified by his teammates as Barça tried to avoid mistakes which cost them in the past against Roma and Liverpool, when the saw leads overturned.
Barça closed the game out 3-1 to qualify for the final eight in Lisbon and set up a showdown with Bayern Munich on Friday for a place in the semifinal.
