Following the action taken in Europe, CONMEBOL has decided to postpone all qualifiers set for the 26th March to the 1st April

CONMEBOL, the governing body for South American football, has officially told its affiliated organisations that the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers will be postponed with immediate effect. This is following on from FIFA and UEFA's lead as the world attempts to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Because of this, South American players based in Europe will be freed from joining up with their national team and avoid being put into quarantine on their return.

This is good news for FC Barcelona as it means Leo Messi (Argentina), Arturo Vidal (Chile) and Arthur Melo (Brazil) will remain at the club. Luis Suarez wouldn't have been called up anyway as he continues his recovery from injury.
