Gerard Pique's take on Griezmann's documentary and decision

It didn’t take Gerard Pique long to react to the news that Antoine Griezmann will stay at Atletico Madrid. The Barcelona defender responded to the documentary, which he didn’t hide his involvement in, on Griezmann’s decision via social media. 

“Another way to see the life of a footballer and the doubts he had when making the most important decision of his career. Thanks to the team at Kosmos Studios and especially to Antoine Griezmann for these last few weeks. You decided to stay at Atletico and I hope it goes great for you this season,” Pique wrote.

Griezmann brought an end to the debate around his future on Thursday in the documentary by saying that he would stay at Atletico. 

As such, Atletico have responded to his request to sign Thomas Lemar, reaching an agreement with Monaco to sign the France player. 

Another tweet from Pique later said: “And remember one thing. There will be people that criticise [the documentary] because everything new generate reject. But the most important thing to reflect on is that not everything they sell you is true. Good night.”
