The Ajax midfielder admits that he watches videos of Xavi and Iniesta on YouTube to analyse how they played and try to implement aspects into his own style

Ajax's midfielder Frenkie de Jong never misses a chance to refer to FC Barcelona and a potential move away from his current club. In an interview with Dutch magazine 'Voetball International' he expressed his admiration for legendary Barça pair Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez.

The Dutch international said: "I often look at videos on YouTube to learn from Xavi and Iniesta." And that isn't the only person he searches for on the popular video website. "I enjoy and love watching what he does, but I don't try and copy him because that's impossible," on finding clips of Leo Messi.

De Jong, a target for Barcelona as they look to strengthen their midfield and help out Sergio Busquets, explains how closely he's followed Barcelona. "I've watched lots of Barcelona matches when Messi, Xavi and Iniesta played (together). Maybe, subconsciously, I've tried to learn and adapt parts of their game to mine."

very little hints over his future

Despite his praise for some of Barcelona's most important players, De Jong wouldn't say much about his own future. When quizzed which team he would like to play for, he responded with: "Everybody wants to play for one of the best teams. There isn't a top 10 team in the world I wouldn't want to play for. It's difficult to choose just one."

However one side he isn't interested in is Milan. "If I had to say no to one right now it'd be Milan because they aren't playing well and the club is in chaos."

And lastly on how his life would change should he leave Ajax. "I usually come back to see my family, almost every week. If I was living abroad I wouldn't be able to do that."
