De Jong: "I think De Ligt will leave Ajax for 68 millon euros"
The Ajax midfielder spoke about the price of his teammate who is being linked with a move to FC Barcelona
In the last few months there's been a lot of speculation about Frenkie De Jong being one of the main objectives for FC Barcelona in the transfer market. At just 21 years old the Ajax player is linked with a hosted of Europe's top teams, just as is teammate Matthijs de Ligt, and he spoke to 'Voetbal International' magazine about that.
"I think he'll leave for 68 million euros in the end," De Jong said on de Ligt's future. However he didn't want to name which club his friend could potentially sign for.
De Jong, who admitted a few weeks ago that he'd like to sign for the same team which de Ligt goes to, says the pair talk about their future plans. "Although it isn't the main topic we discuss."
De Jong also revealed that de Ligt is known is "Dikkie de Ligt" in the Ajax dressing room. 'Dikkie' roughly translates to 'chubby' in English.
Another of de Ligt's nicknames, according to the WhatsApp group they are all in together, is 'Toto'.
