The latest offer for the Spanish left back is €27m, edging closer to what Betis are asking for

FC Barcelona have returned with an improved offer for Junior Firpo. Their initial bid was flatly rejected but this new one of €27m, according to 'Sky Sports', is much closer to Betis' valuation.

The left-back is Barça's first choice to compete alongside Jordi Alba for a starting role next season.

Betis were upset when the first official bid came in at €20m. However, after demanding €30m for the youngster, Barça hope a compromise of €27m will be enough to get the deal over the line.

There's been an extensive list of alternatives drawn up by the club, mainly from the Bundesliga, but the priority has always been Firpo.

It's possible that Miranda could go the other way as part of the transfer.

Firpo is currently in Mexico with the rest of the Real Betis team.
