It's been five years since Barça failed to score in a group stage game

The last team to shut them out was Benfica at the end of 2012

FC Barcelona were unable to score in a Champions League group game for the first time since Dec. 5, 2012. Almost five years later, at Olympiakos, Barça fired blanks after a 27-game scoring run.

Barça's player did all they could to score, especially Messi and Luis Suarez, but they could not beat Proto. The Argentine goalkeeper made a number of saves, while Suarez also hit the bar.

The last time the Blaugrana did not score in a group stage game was at Camp Nou against Benfica (0-0) in the 2012-13 season.

Since then, they have scored in all the group stage games they had played until Tuesday night's trip to Greece, where they still picked up a point which leaves them on the verge of the Champions League knockout stages.

In the 2013-14 season, Barça scored in games against Ajax (4-0 and 2-1), Celtic (0-1 and 6-1) and Milan (1-1 and 3-1).

The following season they scored in matches versus APOEL Nicosia (1-0 and 0-4), PSG (3-2 and 3-1) and Ajax (3-1 and 0-2).

In 2015-16 they also scored in all six games, this time against Roma (1-1 and 6-1), Bayer Leverkusen (2-1 and 1-1) and BATE Borisov (0-2 and 3-0).

A year later, in the 2016-17 season, it was another six straight games scoring: Celtic (7-0 and 0-2), Borussia Mönchengladbach (1-2 and 4-0) and Manchester City (4-0 and 3-1).

And in the current season, three wins preceded the game against Olympiakos: Juventus (3-0), Sporting CP (0-1) and Olympiacos (3-1).
