Incidencias

Partido correspondiente a la cuarta jornada de la fase de grupos de la Liga de Campeones (grupo D), disputado en el estadio Georgios Karaiskakis ante 31.600 espectadores.

Lionel Messi came closest to scoring the goal which would have propelled Ernesto Valverde's side into the last 16, but he was denied on more than one occasion by Silvio Proto.

There was also bad news in the form of an injury for Sergi Roberto, who was taken off just before half time with a thigh strain.

Sporting Lisbon's 1-1 draw with Juventus means Barca still lead the group by three points from the Italians, who host the Catalans in Turin next.

With Sporting six points back, Barca just need one point from their final two games to make the last 16.

Two brilliant Messi runs in the first half forced Proto into two decent saves, although the Argentine would have been disappointed not to have worked the goalkeeper more.

Barça, without the injured Andres Iniesta and suspended Gerard Pique, were dealt a further blow when Roberto was taken off injured after committing a foul.

Olympiakos looked happy to settle for a point and asked their visitors what they had.

Messi drew another save from Proto from a free-kick before half-time and Luis Suarez hit the bar with a looping effort late in the game.

As the game edged towards a draw, Messi again made Proto work, the Olympiakos stopper punching away another free-kick from the No.10.

And in stoppage time he was again Messi's nemesis, saving low to his right before Jordi Alba was flagged offside.
