Sergio Busquets was aware of the importance of winning against Villarreal -- even if it was accompanied by a great performance.
The Barcelona midfielder said that given how Barça have started the season, it was all about the three points on Tuesday.
"We knew that the game at Granada wasn't the best and we wanted the points because we've dropped a lot away from home," Busquets said.
"It's true the season is only just getting started, but we can't let the teams up the top get away."
On the 2-1 win against Villarreal, he added: "We started really well but when Leo (Messi) got injured and was down, we were playing with 10 men and there was some confusion, we stopped having the ball and their goal arrived.
"In the second half we were better, we had more of the ball and they dropped off physically. In the end, we deserved the win."
As for his own form -- he's missed both of Barça's defeats -- he said: "I'm fine. There's a lot of competition in midfield and there are even players being left out of the squad. The competition is good because it forces us to raise our level. I'm going to give my all to earn my place."
