The young forward almost left Camp Nou in the summer of 2018

Carles Perez has put himself in the shop window with his brace in Barcelona's 2-0 win over Andres Iniesta's Vissel Kobe at the weekend.

The winger is one of Barça B's best players and SuperDeporte say he was close to agreeing to move to Valencia recently.

Perez was out of contract in 2018 and Valencia moved quickly to try and bring him in for free. They made an appealing offer, but Barça managed to convince him to renew.

Ajax and Benfica also showed interest in the young Catalan forward at the time, whose new deal at Camp Nou features a 100 million euros release clause.

Now, aged 21, Perez is trying to convince Ernesto Valverde that he deserves a space in the first team this season after two good performances in Japan.
