Barça defender Mathieu's U-turn has him set for Fenerbahce
Mathieu was expected to head to Greek side Olympiacos this summer
However, reports now suggest the Frenchman is off to Turkey instead
Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu is reportedly close to a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce. The French international has other offers, including from Olympiacos, but has reached an agreement Fenerbahce according to Fanatik.
As well as Mathieu, Fenerbahce are also hopeful landing Manchester City's Samir Nasri, who was on loan at Sevilla. Newspaper Fanatik says a deal has already been agreed with Mathieu but talks but take place with Barça.
Remember that Mathieu is one of the players the Catalan club are prepared to lose this summer and he hasn't featured since the 3-0 loss to Juventus in Turin. He did look set to join Olympiacos, while there was also interest from Sporting Lisbon and Marseille.
Mathieu has one year to run on his contract with Barça, which is why any interested party must also reach an agreement with the club as well as the player.
