Wu Lei's sold more shirts than any other Espanyol player already this season

Wu Lei has needed just two weeks to become the player in the Espanyol squad to have sold the most shirts this season, overtaking Borja Iglesias and Marc Roca. The figures are impressive when also including shirts sold officially in China. 

The arrival of the Asian forward in January has had a big affect for Espanyol in China. It's taken just two games for him to win the affection of the Barcelona-based club's supporters and to become the side's new idols. Wu Lei has surprised everyone. 

And the business side of things -- away from the sporting factors -- also look good. Including shirts sold in China, Espanyol believe around 5,000 shirts carrying his name have already been offloaded. That's more than the amount sold by Borja and Roca. 

Taking advantage of this, the club have prepared a special edition shirt for the Chinese forward which can only be purchased online. There will also be limited edition shirts for Borja and Roca. Just 100 will be available with the detail of the player's name in Chinese. 

Meanwhile, Espanyol continue to look for otherways to exploit their new signing economically, a star in his homeland, to increase the club's revenue.
