Juventus-bound De Ligt doesn't travel to Austria with Ajax
The Dutch club have left the defender out as "he awaits a possible transfer"
Ajax travelled to Austria on Saturday to begin the next phase of their preseason but they did so without defender Matthijs de Ligt.
The Dutch international has not made the trip "as he awaits a possible transfer," the club said on their official website.
De Ligt is a step away from completing a move to Juventus. The Italian club have won the race for his services and, after failing to strike a deal with Ajax at first, are now closing in on a transfer worth around 70 million euros.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf revealed on Friday that De Ligt will play for Juve next season, turning down the other offers he had on the table, including one from Barcelona.
