Luis Enrique names Ansu Fati in Spain squad for 2022 World Cup

The Barcelona forward is one of seven players from the Catalan club going to Qatar

Ansu Fati is one of seven Barcelona players named in the Spain squad for the World Cup in Qatar this month. 

However, there was no room for Marcos Alonso or Alejandro Balde in Luis Enrique's 26-man squad, with Jordi Alba and Jose Luis Gaya preferred at left-back. 

In addition to Ansu and Alba, Eric Garcia, Sergio Busquets, Gavi, Pedri and Ferran Torres also made the cut. 

Spain face Jordan in a friendly on Thursday before opening their campaign against Costa Rica on Nov. 23. 

La Roja then face German and Japan in their quest to book their place in the round of 16.
