Tebas apologises to England after Spain fans whistle anthem
La Roja supporters drowned out the sound of God Save the Queen on Monday
The president of La Liga has apologised to England via his Twitter account after the country's national anthem was whistled by Spain supporters at the Benito Villamarín on Monday.
Javier Tebas wanted to defend the nobility of national anthems: "National anthems represent the noblest and most profound feelings of many people. They must always be respected."
He added: "We have to apologise to the English and make [sure] that what happened yesterday doesnt happen again."

It is unknown why a number of the Spain supporters in Seville decided to whistle the anthem -- whether it was a way of protest or simply a lack of respect.
Either way, Tebas has condemned the jeers and hopes it doesn't happen again. It remains to be seen if the RFEF will comment on the matter or take action.
UEFA could also directly fine the RFEF, too. At Euro 2012, for example, Spain were punished when their supporters whistles the Ireland anthem.
