Barcelona players Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Andres Iniesta were all in Julen Lopetegui’s starting lineup as La Roja prepared for their World Cup qualifier against Macedonia this weekend.

Spain took the lead in the 22nd minute when David Silva scored after being set up by former Barça player Pedro Rodriguez.

Two goals either side of half-time helped the visitors seize the advantage, though.

First of all Edwin Cardona levelled the scores after being teed up by Juan Cuadrado and Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez then set up Radamel Falcao to make it 2-1.

Morata was one of a number of players to come on in the second half (Sergio Busquets stayed on the bench) and he was set up by another substitute, Saul Niguez, as he scored an 87th minute equaliser.
