Incidencias

Sergio Ramos and Paco Alcacer eased La Roja into a 2-0 lead in Bucharest before Florin Andone got the home side back into the game.

Romania then pushed for an equaliser late on after Diego Llorente had been sent off, only to be foiled by two brilliant Kepa Arrizabalaga saves.

Spain have now won all five of their qualifiers and sit top of Group F, five points clear of Sweden. Next up is the Faroe Islands on Sunday.

Roberto Moreno picked a new-look Spain side but there was still room for Barcelona duo Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.

Spain bossed the first half but only had a Ramos penalty to show for their efforts, the spot-kick won by the impressive Dani Ceballos.

The Arsenal loanee was at the heart of the second goal, too, with his precision pass teeing up Alba to set up Alcacer from close range.

Substitute Andone then headed home with one of his first touches as Romania fought back in front of a boisterous home crowd.

La Roja weathered that storm but had to hold on in the final few minutes when Llorente was sent off for hauling George Puscas down just outside the area.

Both Romania's best chances fell to Puscas in added time, but he was twice denied by Chelsea's Kepa, who is keeping David de Gea out the side. The second save was particularly special.
