Paco Alcacer: A player with confidence is better
The forward is on loan at Borussia Dortmund from Barcelona where he is shining
Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer, on loan at Borussia Dortmund, is top of the goalscoring charts in Germany with six strikes. On his return to the Spanish national team squad he spoke to the media.
"I don't know what would have happened if I stayed at Barcelona but it's clear that a player with confidence is better than a player without confidence," said Alcacer.
He underlined that it was his decision to try his luck in Germany.
"The decisions that I could have taken, I took. The conversations I had with the coach (Ernesto Valverde) were private, they remain for me and for him.
"I decided to look for minutes elsewhere because I knew at Barcelona it was tricky, with Messi, Suarez, Dembele, Coutinho and the rest. At Barcelona it's hard to have minutes, to play or not play was not in my hands."
