The players are not allowed their mobiles while they eat at Las Rozas

Monday was an intense day for Luis Enrique. At midday, he has his first meeting with his Spain squad, both the veterans and the newbies, and then later he held his first open training session since taking over as the national team's coach.

As already revealed on SPORT, and confirmed by the RFEF later, it will be the only session which is open to the public.

Luis Enrique wants to prepare for the games against England and Croatia with maximum discretion. The plan is for morning training sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before flying to London on Friday, where there will be a session open to the media before Saturday's game against World Cup semi-finalists England.

The coach is already beginning to implement rules. For example, mobile phones are banned from the room where the players convene for breakfast, lunch and dinner at their Madrid base.

Those that do have their phones on them must leave them by the door. Luis Enrique and his team are the first to leave their phones behind. It's a way to encourage dialogue, allowing the players to exchange opinions and relax a little more.
