In a battle of the last two World Cup winners, the 2010 winners took the lead through Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno in the first half.
Rodrigo times his run to perfection behind the Germany defence, with Andres Iniesta picking out the perfect pass.
Spain had control of the game but Germany equalised before half time when Thomas Muller thumped home from distance.
The pace of the game continued after the break and Diego Costa missed a great chance to win it for Spain.
Barça players Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Marc-Andre ter Stegen were also involved in the World Cup warm-up game.
Spain are back in action on Tuesday when they host Argentina at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano.
