Spain smashed in seven against Georgia in Euro 2024 qualifying as Lamine Yamal became the country’s youngest ever player and also the youngest ever goalscorer.

The Barcelona winger bashed in the seventh after coming on as a substitute at 16 years and 57 days old to take Gavi’s record, set in 2021.

By then Spain were four up, with Alvaro Morata, Solomon Kvirkvelia’s own goal and Dani Olmo getting them off to a good start.

Morata netted again before Yamal and Nico Williams came on, for injured duo Olmo and Marco Asensio.

Georgia pegged Spain back with a consolation before Morata netted again and then Williams followed it up with a fine solo goal.

The Athletic Bilbao man teed up Yamal to whip in the seventh and keep making history.

Spain host Cyprus on Thursday as they look to keep pressure on group leaders Scotland.
