Paco Alcácer spoke to SPORT from Spain's Las Rozas base in Madrid

SPORT sat down with former Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer at Spain's base in Camp Nou. The Borussia Dortmund striker has re-found his form in Germany and is set to face the Catalan club in the Champions League this season.

Is this the most confident you've been in your career?

It could be. The numbers suggest that. I feel confident and comfortable with my teammates -- which is a plus on the pitch.

How did you adapt to German football so quickly?

It's a question of confidence and feeling comfortable on the pitch. Minutes are important. The treatment from my teammates, having an understanding with them, that's also key.

Does playing alone in a 4-2-3-1 system benefit you?

At the end of the day, a confident player is a different player. I'm not the only case of that. Many players without confidence are nothing and with confidence are really good.

Feelings about facing Barça in the Champions League?

The sensation of being able to see teammates, friends that I left behind. It's a special game. To play against your ex-team is a sign of joy, excitement and a desire to play well.

Memories of your time at FC Barcelona?

In life you make decisions and I don't regret anything, but it's true that you learn, if you're playing or not. I try to remember the positives which have made me who I am. I try to leave the negatives behind.

Will you celebrate if you score at Camp Nou?

I wouldn't know what to do, because at the end of the day you're really happy [to score]. A lot of people behaved really well with me there, a lot of people that also say things that you don't like, but the respect was always there.

What did you learn at Barça?

We all know how Barça play, in the opponent's half and with little space. Before, I was slower with my decision making. Now I notice I am quicker to make decisions in small spaces. I learned that at Barça.
