Zidane: I am not a magician but I have to find a solution

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane says he is searching for the answers to end Madrid's run of four consecutive draws

Zinedine Zidane says he is “not a magician” and he accepts complaints about the team’s form.

“I know where I am. I accept the criticism. I am going to keep working. If we manage four draws in a row, then I am to blame and I have to find the solution,” he said at a press conference ahead of Los Blancos’ trip to face Real Betis.

“Perhaps we have to concentrate more and play with a bit more intensity. The most important thing is that we work hard to get ourselves of this difficult situation. The players are all professionals and when we prepare for a game we do it well, but perhaps we need to prepare even better.”

When asked about his comments on Spanish radio that Madrid seemed to have a psychological problem at the start of games, he explained: “I said that it was not a physical issue because physically we are all doing well.

“When you go into a game these days there are no small teams, we mustn't think that we will simply turn up and win. We always have to play at a high level in all of the games. That is what I said.

“The players are all very focussed on what they do and what we need to do is get back to winning games. We will work hard to get back to winning ways.”
