The Los Blancos coach praised the Portugal forward who has been vital

Zidane said if he played in the same team as Ronaldo, his charge would be better

Zinedine Zidane hailed Cristiano Ronaldo as the Portuguese hitman prepares to lead Real Madrid into their third Champions League final in three years.

Ronaldo’s five goals against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals and hat-trick against Atletico in the semis helped Real Madrid reach Saturday’s showpiece event in Cardiff.

Asked who would have been better if they had played in the same era, Zidane was certain.

“Ronaldo, no doubt,” said the Frenchman. “He scores goals and that’s the most important thing.”

"Cristiano is a good guy, he gets worried about the other players. What matters is what he does professionally, he wants to win more and more, he is never satisfied.”

Meanwhile Sergio Ramos hopes Madrid’s history would weigh on Juventus, with Los Blancos aiming to win the European Cup for the 12th time.

“Real Madrid have played a lot of finals and that might affect our opponents more than us. We’ve got our heads held high, we know the history of our club and at the final whistle tomorrow we must be satisfied with the attitude of the team.

“This is an historic opportunity to win the Champions League for the second year in a row.”
