Madrid don't plan on sacking Zidane before the game

But losses to Valencia and Levante would change things

Real Madrid have no intention of firing Zinedine Zidane. At least, not for now. There are three weeks until the Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain and everything suggests that if Florentino Perez is going to take drastic action, it will be after a hypothetical elimination from Europe. Despite being out of the Copa del Rey and 19 points off the top in La Liga, the reality is that six good European games could lead to another final in Kiev.

Meanwhile, if Perez gets rid of Zidane now and Madrid still go out of the Champions League after, the mood around the club would be back to square one. Said in other words, he "would burn" one card in just three weeks. Therefore, he will wait. At least until after the PSG matches.

However, until the game against PSG, Madrid have some difficult games. This weekend they face Valencia at the Mestalla. In the case that they lose and Atletico beat Las Palmas, Madrid would be 11 and eight points behind second and third in the table.

After that, Madrid have an easier game at Levante. Then they welcome Real Sociedad to the Bernabeu, before they take on PSG on Feb. 14.

Depending on how those next three games go, it's not completely out of the question that Perez runs out of patience with Zidane before the tie and decides to look for a new coach. If they're knocked out of the Champions League, they would effectively be on 'holiday' from March 6 until the start of next season.
