Zidane's comments did not go down well in the Madrid dressing room

The Real Madrid players don't share their manager's take on what went wrong in Poland

Real Madrid’s draw against Legia Warsaw could have more consequences for the Spanish club than just losing top spot in their Champions League Group. The result, and Zinedine Zidane’s analysis, could plant a seed of discord in the dressing room.

The manager’s words in the press conference, explaining why they had lost two points against a theoretically inferior rival, didn’t go down well with Madrid’s players.

According to the TVE show Estudio Estadio on Wednesday night, the French coach’s accusations weren’t well received by the heavyweights at the club.

“We lacked a little of everything, but above all intensity. When you score two goals and drop the intensity, anything can happen and it did,” Zidane said.

The players didn’t like that he used a lack of intensity as the motive for the dropped points, given that directly blames them. However, in the same press conference, Zidane admitted that he was “responsible”, although it doesn’t seem to have convinced the Madrid dressing room.
