The Madrid defender left the pitch in the second half

Zidane had to clear up why he was missing for five minutes

"Sergio Ramos had to take a shit." Zinedine Zidane explained with absolute clarity one of the anecdotes of Real Madrid's win over Eibar on Saturday, an anecdote which starred captain Ramos.

The moment went unnoticed by the majority of fans, but in the 73rd minute of the game at Ipurua the centre-back had to leave the pitch in a hurry.

Ramos reappeared five minutes later, before Cristiano Ronaldo scored his second goal of the afternoon, earning Los Blancos a hard fought 2-1 win in the Basque Country.

The reason for the brief absence was curious. Ramos had to attend to his needs and needed the toilet, as confirmed by Zidane himself after the game when interrogated about what had happened.

Zidane had already made three changes so was forced to play with 10 men for five minutes. Besides, Nacho Fernandez had already come on for the injured Raphael Varane in the first half.

Luckily for Madrid and for Ramos, Eibar didn't score during his absence, with the game delicately poised at 1-1 when he took his toilet break.
