Zidane leaves Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale out of Copa del Rey game

Cristiano Ronaldo will sit out Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey trip to Cultural Leon on Wednesday night. 

The Portuguese forward is without a goal in two games and has only scored four times in nine appearances this season. 

It's his worst start since joining Madrid, but he will have to wait for the weekend game against Alaves for a chance to re-find his shooting boots.

Zinedine Zidane has also left Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Keylor Navas and Marcelo out for the first leg of their round-of-32 tie.

Sergio Ramos, Casemiro and Luka Modric are still missing with injuries. 

Zidane’s list of 16 players does include Fabio Coentrao, while the French coach has also confirmed that Kiko Casilla will be his cup goalkeeper.

Goalkeepers: Casilla, Rubén Yáñez.

Defenders: Pepe, Varane, Nacho, Carvajal, Coentrão, Danilo.

Midfielders: Kroos, James, Kovacic, Asensio, Isco.
