The Real Madrid coach wants the PSG start to be fit

Neymar was carried off with an ankle injury on Sunday

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane hopes Neymar is fit for the second leg of his side's Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain.

Neymar injured his ankle in PSG's win against Marseille on Sunday and was taken off on a stretcher in tears.

However, PSG coach Unai Emery says he's optimistic that the Brazilian will be back for the second leg of the round of 16 tie against Madrid next week.

Madrid have a 3-1 lead from the first leg so the French side have it all to do in Paris, with Zidane saying he hopes Neymar's fit for the game, even if PSG are better with him in the side.

“I want Neymar to return in time for our game,” Zidane told reporters during a press conference ahead of Tuesday's game against Espanyol.

“I never want to see any player injured and I hope he will be back in time to face us and recover from his injury."

Zidane is set to welcome Sergio Ramos back into the team at Espanyol after the defender missed the weekend win over Alaves through suspension.

“Sergio Ramos is our leader and he is our captain, and those who have expressed doubt about his position are those who lack respect," the coach added. “Everybody at the club has a lot of love for him.”
