The Madrid coach was impressed with the Basque side

Two Ronaldo goals sandwiched a Ramis header at Ipurua

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane conceded that Eibar were the better side on Saturday as his side came away from Ipurua with a hard-fought three points.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Real won 2-1, a result which Eibar will feel doesn't reflect the pattern of the game,

"This victory leaves me with a very special taste," Zidane said in his post-game press conference.

"Eibar were better, especially in the first 25 minutes, they played a great game. It's a tough place to come and they played well.

"We knew that we were going to suffer and suffer. We had difficulties with the ball but we fought with character and got the win."

The three points moved Madrid to within four points of Atletico in second and 12 of league leaders Barcelona, although both teams are yet to play this weekend.

And despite the huge gap to Barça, Zidane still feels Madrid could yet retain the league title they won last season.

"Until the end, the league is possible, and not only for us," he added. "If you get distracted, you pay for it, so we must continue. If we want something, we have to win every game."
