The duo are obtaining their UEFA PRO license which is essential to coach at the top level

Like at Barcelona, the question of who will coach Real Madrid also generates many doubts and questions for next season. Although Solari has a contract in force, we will have to see what happens once this season ends and Florentino Perez takes stock of the possible titles achieved.

Much has been said about possible candidates to take over, starting with José Mourinho. What is certain is that two more candidates will join this list this summer. Two ex-players with a Real Madrid past: Raúl González and Xabi Alonso.

As Xavi Hernández is doing, both Xabi Alonso and Raúl González will have, from 1 July, the qualification required by the UEFA and Spanish regulations to be able to coach in La Liga as well as in the rest of the world.

The two former Madrid players are also attending the course that begins on April 23 at the facilities of the Spanish Football Federation in Las Rozas, to obtain their UEFA PRO license.

In addition to the theoretical part, this requires a period of practice for around six months. And this is where the key to everything lies and why both Xabi Alonso and Raúl can have their qualifications in order to become an elite coach from July 1, coinciding with the formal start of the next season in Spanish football.

Xabi Alonso took charge of the Infantil A Madrid side at Valdebebas this season. The same happened this season with Raúl, running the Cadet B team. This time they both have up until now at their respective teams, in addition to what remains of the season, counts as the internship period. This makes it possible to obtain the UEFA PRO license as soon as the theoretical part of the course ends, without having to complete the practical part.

Another ex-Madrid player who will attend the course is Michel Salgado. The former Madrid defender already has some experience on the bench in Ireland, which would allow him to validate the practical part in the future and clear him for immediate acquisition of the UEFA PRO license.
