The Brazilian is back from injury but may have to make do with a place on the bench on Sunday

Vinícius Junior returns to Real Madrid's squad for the Madrid derby at the Metropolitano on Sunday, as confirmed by his coach, Carlo Ancelotti, who assured that he will take "zero risks" and will evaluate on the day of the match whether to give him minutes or wait until the next league matchday.

Zero risk with Vini

"The risk is zero, he trained [Friday] and [Saturday] with zero risk," Ancelotti said. "If we have to risk it tomorrow to have him, we're not going to do it,.

The coach will assess the moment in which his player arrives for the match after leaving 28 days to recover from his muscle rupture.

"We'll talk about it [sunday] with calm and tranquillity," the Italian added. "The important thing is that he has recovered, obviously after a month out he lacks a bit of fitness as is normal. These are things that we will evaluate."

The Madrid coach revealed that Vinicius will be called up to the squad as a first decision and that the decision to give him minutes has not yet been taken.

"He has started training with the team, he's in good condition, the injury is forgotten, he trained very well today and he's going to be in the squad. I'll decide what role he will play in the match.

"Elsewhere, Carvajal is not ready, he's a bit short of 100%. Mendy and Ceballos are also fully recovered".
