Vinicius back in Real Madrid training after missing derby defeat at Atletico

The Brazilian could feature in Wednesday's game vs. Las Palmas at the Bernabeu

Real Madrid's debacle in the derby against Atlético Madrid (3-1) has put the spotlight on Vinicius as the savior. The Brazilian was supposed to have made his comeback at the Metropolitano after recovering from a hamstring injury in his right leg suffered in the early moments of the match against Celta in Balaídos. However, an untimely bout of gastroenteritis ruled him out of the squad at the last minute.

And Real Madrid missed him greatly. The defensive fragility shown against Atlético had no counterpart in the attack, where Los Blancos failed to trouble Jan Oblak beyond Toni Kroos's long-range shot, which temporarily made it 2-1.

Vinicius has missed a total of four games, three in La Liga against Getafe, Real Sociedad, and Atlético, and the opening match of the Champions League against Union Berlin. While it's true that Carlo Ancelotti's team managed to win three of them, it's also true that they did so with great difficulty, often having to come from behind. And in their first serious test, the experiment collapsed like a house of cards.

The Brazilian forward returned to training on Monday alongside the rest of the team at Valdebebas. Vinicius completed the entire session, so he shouldn't have any problems being included in the squad for the match against UD Las Palmas, a game scheduled for this Wednesday (19:00) at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Vinicius will likely play some minutes, thinking ahead to the visit to Girona on Saturday, and it's not ruled out that he could even start, given the team's limited ability to break down opposing defenses.

Caution with Güler

Arda Güler also completed the training session. The Turkish midfielder has been training normally for days after his meniscus arthroscopy, which has yet to allow him to make his debut. However, it has not been decided whether he will be included in the list of players for the upcoming matches.

The medical staff at Real Madrid want to take it slow with the young midfielder to avoid any unwanted setbacks, and Carlo Ancelotti will be cautious when it comes to integrating him into the competition's dynamics.
