Julen Lopetegui brought the 45 million man on in the final stages of the game

Real Madrid's young Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior came on for his debut in the final moments of the Madrid derby, 0-0 against Atletico at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Vinicius with the No 28 on his back, came on in the 88th minute for Karim Benzema. Vincius earned a free-kick which Sergio Ramos took, but it was off-target.

Madrid paid 45m for the 18 year old from Flamengo, who has played four B team matches so far.

"We brought Vinicius Jr. on to exploit his pace," explained Julen Lopetegui.

"All of the players entered the final stages looking short of energy and we could hurt them with our pace. We introduced some quick players up top and it was a shame that we didn't manage to convert our chances."
