"Anyone who dares to denounce Florentino would be suicidal," he said

Former police commissioner José Manuel Villarejo has explained to 'RAC 1' what the figure of Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez means for the law on Tuesday.

In a wide-ranging conversation with journalist Jordi Basté, Villarejo commented that "Florentino Pérez bribed referees before Barça did. He is untouchable. He knows why.

"Anyone who dares to denounce Florentino would be suicidal. It is impossible to prosecute anything that affects Florentino Pérez."

He explained an anecdote with former politician Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba: "The ill-fated Rubalcaba, who was a Real Madrid fan, told me not to even think of going to the Madrid box because it is a tremendous television studio."

On journalist Antonio Garcia Ferreras: "I have eaten quite a few times with Ferreras and the vast majority of the recordings are a copy of those made by the CNI since 2017 in which they monitored my life. What he wants to define as 'moral panic' are certain living forces are dedicated to mass manipulation techniques to determine the level of culture or manipulation of a country and they work quite well."

Laporta denied Rosell leak

Also related to the statements of the former police commissioner on 'RAC1', the aforementioned radio station reported that the president of FC Barcelona Joan Laporta sent a voice note to the former head of the club, Sandro Rosell, to refute the accusations of Villarejo, who accused him of having leaked information that helped the arrest of Sandro Rosell in 2017.

Laporta wanted to speak to Sandro on the phone to deny the former police commissioner's claims, but Rosell did not pick up the phone so he left him a voicemail.

In a face-to-face meeting between José Manuel Villarejo and the former president of the Generalitat Artur Mas, the former police commissioner said: "People from the president's (Laporta's) entourage, who had kicked him out, leaked information about Rosell. There was a person that you protected quite a lot, a certain Martorell [Xavier], who was in charge of security at Barça and a partner in a detective firm that continues to work with the CNI."

Joan Laporta will take legal action against Villarejo.
