The former Madrid man doesn't think it would be wise to leave the Bernabeu

Former Real Madrid coach and player Jorge Valdano has given Cristiano Ronaldo some advice ahead of a potential move to Juventus.

Valdano is keen for Ronaldo to remain where he is, suggesting that a move to Juve would be a step back in sporting terms.

Speaking to Onda Cero, Valdano commented that "if Cristiano leaves Real Madrid, he loses more than Madrid" and added that "leaving Madrid is not an intelligent decision and I have him down as an intelligent person."

In this sense, Valdano also added: "I don't think in the coming generations we will find a new Messi or a new Cristiano, they're two monsters of the game.

Meanwhile, Valdano spoke about other players at the World Cup, saying that "Neymar's characteristics are tremendous: he has pace, quality, the capacity to create... he has it all."

Neymar's been knocked out the World Cup with Brazil, though, but Luka Modric is still there with Croatia.

Valdano said: "Modric is the Iniesta of eight years ago, one of those players that dignify football. He is a wonderful player, one of the few that reconciles you with football."
