The midfielder says he will not play for his national side any longer after England KO

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has retired from international football after Germany were beaten by England at Euro 2020.

The 31-year-old earned 106 caps and won the 2014 World Cup with the national team.

"I have played 106 times for Germany. There will not be another time," wrote Kroos on social media.

"I had already made the decision to retire after this tournament for some time. It had been clear to me for a while that I will not be available for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

“(I want to) focus fully on my goals with Real Madrid for the next few years.”

Kroos played for Bayern from 2007 until 2014, when he came to Spain with Los Blancos.
