The Belgian goalkeeper made his Real Madrid debut vs. Leganes on Saturday

One of the big attractions of Real Madrid's game against Leganes on Saturday was Thibaut Courtois' debut, with coach Julen Lopetegui finally bringing him in for Keylor Navas, who had started the first two league games.

The Belgian goalkeeper, a summer signing from Chelsea, tried to play down the rivalry with Navas after the game and said they have a good rapport, despite the press "wanting to play us off against each other" for the starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"Keylor wished me a lot of luck [before the game]," Courtois said. "We're both competing well, with a lot of laughs, always giving our all in training. The controversy is made by the press."

"FEEL GOOD"

Courtois added that he feels good, "even though it's never easy to come into a team when they're already in a rhythm," and revealed that he found out he was starting the night before the game.

His debut saw him concede one goal, from the penalty spot as Madrid won 4-1: "Even though I conceded a goal, no worries, you have to keep working hard. I also felt good with my feet."
