Real Madrid have had problems shooting this season with several efforts off target

Real Madrid and Barcelona clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday. The Catalans arrive as league leaders, two points clear and hoping to make it five. Accuracy in front of goal will be key, and the stats show that Barcelona are doing a lot better there.

Madrid have taken more shots than any other side this season, with 407 efforts. Benzema is usually paired with one or two of Hazard, Bale, Vinicius, Rodrygo or Isco. Of these shots, only 158 have been on target. They 42 goals, which is a 14% scoring rate. That shows how poor they have been with their shooting.

By contrast, Barcelona have had the fifth most shots on 322. 156 of those have been on target, and they have scored 62 goals, which is a 25% scoring rate. Leo Messi and Luis Suarez have been the most common attacking combination for the Catalans, along with Ansu or Griezmann.
