Solari: "Bale has to run himself into the ground every time he plays"

The current interim head coach of Real Madrid, Santiago Solari, held a press conference today ahead of the match against Celta Vigo tomorrow. The Argentine said it's important Bale "runs himself into the ground" every time he steps out onto the pitch.

Bale, in a season where more is expected of him following the depature of Cristiano Ronaldo, is suffering yet more attacks from the media for his performances. "I like Bale. I like Bale in every position. He's got the ability to play as a striker, on either wing or just behind the striker."

The Welshman, who played in the no.10 role against Viktoria Plzen, has scored five goals and provided five assists in 14 matches this season. However in many of those he's had to leave the pitch early due to feeling discomfort.

Solari was also asked about the future of Keylor Navas after the goalkeeper was linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu. "He's a strong man. He's a key part of the group and is well liked too."
