Chelsea aren't willing to let the Belgian stopper leave until they sign another goalkeeper first

There have been various stories doing the rounds this summer about Thibaut Courtois leaving Chelsea. However this Monday, Sky Sports have confirmed that Courtois will join Real Madrid.

The English journalist, Paul Gilmour, has admitted that the Belgian stopper will leave but the delay in an official announcement is due to Chelsea's need to find an able replacement first.

At the moment Chelsea are yet to find a new number one keeper who could replace Courtois. They did sign 38-year-old Robert Green however he is expected to be their third choice man between the sticks and Willy Caballero hasn't done enough to convince new coach Maurizio Sarri he should take over from Courtois.

This means that Real Madrid will have a nervous wait until the 9th August, when the transfer window closes in England, for Chelsea to sign a replacement. Until then the London club won't rubber stamp Courtois' move back to Spain.
