Sevilla 1-1 Real Madrid: Ramos helps Alonso deny Madrid on debut

Real Madrid dropped two points at Sevilla on Saturday in La Liga, giving Barcelona the chance to almost catch them up before the Clasico next weekend.

They were frustrated by their former defensive bastion Sergio Ramos, who was at his best in the battle of the Sanchez-Pizjuan.

It was a high-octane clash with both goalkeepers making good saves in the first half, and Sevilla only went ahead through David Alaba’s own goal, before Dani Carvajal levelled soon after.

Madrid left angry about disallowed goals for Fede Valverde and Jude Bellingham, with coach Carlo Ancelotti offering sarcastic responses praising the referee’s performance.

"Irony is the only way after this game because I think that if I say what I think about the refereeing I will get a lot of games (banned),” said the Italian.

“What I like most at the moment is to sit on the Real Madrid bench. So, to avoid suspensions, I don't say what I think and I use a bit of irony.”
