A poor start to the season has seen plans begin for January

Ceballos has played just over 100 minutes for Madrid this season

Rumours of players leaving the Santiago Bernabeu in January have begun. If a few days ago Tottenham striker Harry Kane was linked with a move to Real Madrid next summer, now Dani Ceballos has been linked with a move away from the club. AC Milan, in their attempt to become a European power again, are the interested party.

Despite the fact Ceballos only moved to Madrid this summer to take James Rodriguez's place in midfield, the amount of players Zinedine Zidane has in that position means he's been unable to give him too many minutes. The former Real Betis player has only disputed 111 minutes across six matches, scoring two goals and generally playing well.

However, it doesn't seem to be enough for Zidane and he remains one of the least used players along with Marcos Llorente, who also joined Madrid's first team this season after impressing on loan at Alaves.

What's true is that Ceballos knew the role he was signing up for in the Spanish capital. Despite everything, Madrid are not ready to lose a player who could become important in the coming seasons. However, Milan, who spent 200 million euros in the summer, want to sign the Spain midfielder to try and turn around their poor start to the campaign.
