Sergio Ramos says his handball was "involuntary" and not a penalty

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos was very satisfied to beat Borussia Dortmund in Germany on Tuesday at a stadium that, until now, he had not won at with his club. 

The player said it "was a great victory after so many years against a team that's always complicated to play against at a stadium with unique fans" in reference to his three draws and three defeats at the Signal Iruna Park.

Analysing the game, Ramos added that "we played with a lot of authority and this is the path to follow to counteract everything which is being said [about us]. We have to keep to the side of that, what's important is our football." 

UP AND DOWN 

Ramos knows that things can change on a daily basis in this game: "Football's like that, but luckily there's a game every three days, for better or for worse." 

The defender assured that "we're keen to re-find the best Madrid, the Madrid with a lot of character and we leave here with high morale after beating a really good rival with authority." 

As for his goal scoring team-mates, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, Ramos said: "When they're fortunate in front of goal it's important for us, although it's the collective work of the team which brings results. But I'm really happy when Bale and Cristiano are on form." 

HANDBALL? 

As for the controversial moment of the match, when he handled the ball in his own area but got away with it, Ramos explained: "It was all so quick and it's true the ball hit me in the hand, but it was totally involuntary. There was no intention to touch the ball with my hand. I don't think there was anything worth whistling for."
