Schweinsteiger has been chosed as captain of the MLS All-Stars for the game against Real Madrid on 2 August
The game will be played this Wednesday in Chicago
The German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who now plays for Chicago Fire, was chosen as captain for the MLS All-Stars Team to play Real Madrid on 2 August by a vote on social media.
Schweinsteiger, who joined Fire this season, beat David Villa and the American goalkeeper Tim Howard to earn the honour.
Since Schweinsteiger joined, Fire have become one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, where they are second behind Toronto FC. The German has scored two goals and provided five assists for the team managed by Veljko Paunovic, who will also manage the All-Stars team.
The game will be played on 2 August at Soldier Field, Chicago, home of the NFL team the Chicago Bears.
