The French striker was taken off in the first half of the Champions League game

Real Madrid's defence of the Champions League got off to a bad start in Glasgow on Tuesday. Celtic started better than Carlo Ancelotti's team, having the clearest chances and even hitting the post.

But that was not the worst thing for Real Madrid because striker Karim Benzema had to leave the pitch injured before reaching half an hour of play.

The Frenchman put his hand to his knee and, in turn, set off the alarm bells in Madrid. After a few minutes, he made it clear to Ancelotti that he couldn't continue and asked for a change.

Benzema left the field of play due to his discomfort in his right knee and Eden Hazard took his place in the first half. Madrid will hope the injury is not serious.
