Scandalous! Sergio Ramos only banned for one match after Clasico red card

The RFEF say he only sits out the game against Deportivo de la Coruna on Wednesday

He sarcastically applauded the referee after being dismissed at the Santiago Bernabeu

The RFEF have confirmed on Tuesday that Sergio Ramos has been suspended for just one game for his red card during the Clasico on Sunday. He went in with a very dangerous lunge on Lionel Messi in the 77th minute and was dismissed.

The referee, Hernandez Hernandez, gave Ramos his marching orders but did not include Ramos’ sarcastic applause, telling Gerard Pique at the same time “Talk now, talk now”. The referee only wrote that Ramos was sent off for “fouling with excessive force while going for the ball”.

Ramos therefore just misses Madrid’s trip to Deportivo de la Coruna on Wednesday. This is galling for Barcelona considering Neymar was banned for three games after his sarcastic applause.
